I'll take my award now

One of my kids is passing out while eating lunch, and the other one is rolling off the couch while I help the first one. Yeah I'll be accepting my mother of the year award right now k thanks.

Wisdom

My grandma dug this out and gave it to me the other day. I think she found it at just the right time and it really struck a cord with me. I'm making a huge effort not to be this way anymore, and so far I think it's made a great difference.

To My Grown Up Son

My hands were busy through the day;
I didn't have much time to play
The little games you asked me to.
I'd wash your clothes, I'd sew and cook,
But when you'd bring your picture book
And ask me please to share your fun
I'd say "A little later, son."
I'd tuck you in all safe at night
And hear your prayers, turn out the light.
Then tip-toe softly to the door....
I wish I'd stayed a minute more.

A little boy grows up so fast.
No longer is he at your side
His precious secrets to confide.
The picture books are put away,
There are no longer games to play,
No good-night kiss, no prayers to hear....
That all belongs to yesteryear.
My hands, once busy, now are still,
The days are long and hard to fill.
I wish I could go back and do
The little things you asked me to.

So. Yeah. Blubbering much huh? My little guy is sick today and he is very needy. I'm making every effort to be there for every little thing he asks. Because I'm well aware that some day, I will miss taking care of my little guy when he is sick. So, have to go now, he wants to cuddle in Bandons bed (He says his name with out the R).
