The day started out at 5:30 AM. We checked into the hospital and I was placed in my room. The nurse came in and told me she would be giving me an IV, catheter and shaving me. I thought wow, well shit, you sure making having a baby fun. She lifted my gown and was so impressed with the shaving I did at home that she said I didn't have to be re shaved. PHEW! Then she gave me the IV in my hand and OWWWW that hurt. Finally she came in and put in the catheter. My mood went from great to, BIG HUGE ASSHOLE in about 3 seconds. I suddenly was cramping and pissed off at everyone and mad they did it an hour and a half before delivery. After people started flooding the room and touching me here and there I was relieved to hear we were headed to the delivery room. They took me into the delivery room which was fuuuureezing and had me sit on a table. The anesthesiologist told me I would feel a little prick similar to what the needle at the dentist feels like. Ha I didn't even feel that much. It maybe felt like I poked myself with a fork or something. Then I guess he gave me the epidural and I didn't feel a thing. They had me sit there for nine seconds and my legs got warm. They laid me down and put up the drape and this time I felt amazing. The anesthesiologist did an amazing job this time and he numbed me to just the right spot. The doctor told me everything that was happening and then he said, okay you will feel a tug and then you should hear a cry. I felt the tug, and I heard Wha OMG HE IS PEEING ON YOU aaaa. That's right hearing his first cry was interrupted by the entire delivery room shouting that my brand new son had just peed on me about 2 seconds after being born. It was actually pretty funny because I knew from being pregnant this kid was going to be a little feisty and boy was I right. They took him to the table and he kept whaling which was so reliving and awesome to hear. They cleaned him up and the doctor kept turning around to tell me how perfect and amazing Codi was. His feet were half the size of Brandon's surf board feet and he had a full head of hair. Everyone joked that was probably the cause of my heartburn. Rob and Codi left after that and they went off to the nursery for a bath and what not. I hung out and got stitched up and I did way better then last time. I didn't even start screaming I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS or anything. They took me to recovery and said I could see Codi when I could move my toes. They say it takes about an hour which was just right and I waited for the hour and then suddenly I guess I was moving my whole leg. They all giggled at me and right at that moment Rob walked in and said Codi was all ready for me. They wheeled me to my room and brought in Codi. He proceeded to pass right out in my arms. He slept there for ever and woke up and latched on like a champion nurser and passed right back out. He did this the rest of the night. He even slept in his little bassinet thing for hours at a time and that shocked me since Brandon wouldn't go in his bassinet thing for 40 seconds. Codi spent from 12:40 to 5AM sleeping in his bassinet. I am still astonished as he is in his bassinet right now. I changed his first poopy diaper this morning and right as I pulled off his diaper he started pooping more. So I wipe and out came more poop and more and more and then he peed on me. I finally gave up just put a diaper on him and let him sit for a while in the Boppy while he finished pooping. Then he fell right back to sleep. This kid might be the most peaceful baby I have ever seen in my life. I love it. I wonder how long it will last because he it is really fun having two totally different kids. Last night Brandon finally warmed up to him and rubbed his back and belly and gave him a few kisses. Then he saw Codi start nursing and Brandon kind of freaked out. He crawled over me and started trying to pull my boob out of his mouth and he got really close and kind of seemed like he was about to try and lick my boob. The whole thing totally cracked me up. Brandon kept poking my boob and finally he gave up and kissed me bye.
So far I've only been allowed broth and cream of wheat so needless to say I AM STARVING. I already got my catheter and IV out and am already able to walk around and I even just got to take a shower. I am now devising a plan to have grilled cheese and french fries smuggled in here so I can finally eat some damn food! I am going to go now and stare at my son while trying to figure out how to upload photos from my moms camera contraption doohicky so you can all oggle my little man more!
